THIRTY-THREE MORE FAMILIES AWARDED...

Thirty-three more families were awarded the Centralian Family Loyalty Award on 30 September 2005, 4:00 P.M. at the Alumni Promenade Concert Park. The fanilies were cited for their family's legacy of attending CPU, and continuing concern, undiminished interest, unselfish involvement, and unswerving support to their Alma Mater.

The awarding program started with an invocation of Rev. Jerson Narciso, University Chaplain, followed by the Alma Mater Song. Dr. Juanito Acanto gave the Opening Remarks. The awardees were the families of:

The Buensuceso family rendered a musical offering. Dr. Eliza Yap-Uy Griño gave the response in behalf of the awardees. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude and loyalty to CPU. Dr. Griño said, "We know that our students are beset by the same troubles that other campuses have, but they do not have to be failures here if they avail themselves of the many kinds of help that this campus provides, for here at Central, students are central. The loyalty of CPU to noble causes invites our loyalty to her. May we and the families that our descendants will raise, keep CPU strong in God's service in the next hundred years."

LOYAL CENTRALIAN FAMILIES RECEIVE THE
CENTRALIAN FAMILY LOYALTY AWARD

Thirty-six loyal Centralian families were honored and awarded the Centralian Family Loyalty Award on 2 August 2005, 4:00 PM, at the University Church, during the Centennial Celebration Reunion Week.

In a hundred years of existence, Central Philippine University has molded loyalty in the lives of many familie. For this, CPU has come up with the Centralian Family Loyalty Award for families who had established a legacy of attending CPU, proved their continuing concern, undiminished interest, unselfish involvement, and unswerving support to their Alma Mater. The first awarding ceremony on 2 August was well attended by family members of the first to third generation. Through careful screening and research, 36 of more than a hundred families who qualified, were the first batch of recipients of the Centralian Family Loyalty Award.

The 36 awardees were the families of the Rosendo Arandela, Feliciano Argamaso, Victoriano Bermejo, Salvador Braña, Damaso Caipang, Mariano Caipang, Alfredo Catedral, Roque De La Cruz, Mamerto Derayunan, Delfin Dianala, Genaro Diesto, Ramon Doromal, Sr., Isidro Emmanuel, Sr., Thomas Gabio, Vicente Gobuyan, Sr., Eduardo Gonzaga, Pablo Guillergan, Jerome Juarez, Sr., Diosdado Luntao, Sr., Edward Masa, Porferio Mayordomo, Sr., Urbano Nequin, Marcelo Obregon, Fernando Ortigoza, Godofredo Padernilla, Eleuterio Plagata, Sr., Victoriano Peñacerrada, Carlos Portante, Modesto Rico, Nacianceno Rico, Pedro Robles, Vicente Sabidong, Sr., Paulino Seribo, Juan Sornito, Sr., Jesus Vaflor, and Paulino Veria, Sr.

President Juanito Acanto presented each family with the Centralian Family Loyalty Award plaque, and the program culminated with the singing of the "Central Spirit" and the Benediction. A fellowship dinner followed at the ground floor of the Henry Luce III Library. All families are worthy of the award and will always be recognized by CPU for their loyalty.
